21st January 2021 0 By Sahil

GTA 5, which was initially released in 2013, is still enjoyed by millions of people worldwide. However, GTA enthusiasts are still waiting eagerly to hear anything about GTA 6. Officially, Rockstar didn’t say much about GTA 6 release date. Nevertheless, there are numerous GTA 6 leaks on the internet that may be true.

That’s why, in this article, we’ve mentioned everything that you should know about Grand Theft Auto 6.

GTA 6 Release Date: Is GTA 6 Releasing In 2021?

Reportedly, as of April 2020, GTA 6 was in “early development.” If that is true, we might hear something about GTA 6 by the end of 2021. However, there’s no way that the game is releasing before 2022.

According to some leaks, Rockstar plans to spend an incredible amount of money in 2023/2024. So, it’s safe to presume that GTA 6 might release during the same time window.

Has GTA 6 Been Confirmed?

Officially, NO, GTA 6 hasn’t been confirmed. However, there have been leaks from ex-Rockstar employees that GTA 6 is in “early development’ under the code name Project Americas.

According to the same GTA 6 leak, GTA won’t be as massive as GTA 5 or other Grand Theft Auto games at the time of release. Instead, GTA 6 will get a “moderately sized” release, and the developers will expand the game by releasing regular updates. Reportedly, this is Rockstar’s effort to get rid of the “Crunch” culture.

GTA 6 Location: Where Will GTA 6 Be Set?

Similar to GTA 6 release date, there isn’t much we know about GTA 6 location; officially. Apparently, there have been countless rumors claiming that GTA 6 will take players back to Vice City (Miami).

Moreover, one potential GTA 6 location leak by Rockstar’s co-founder, Sam Houser, indicates that GTA 6 might also feature Las Vegas, Mexico, or Chicago. So, there are high chances that similar to GTA San Andreas, GTA 6 will feature multiple cities, which could be really exciting.

GTA 6 Theme

Interestingly, Tim Neff, a stuntman who reportedly worked for Rockstar, revealed the GTA 6 theme a few months back on Instagram. According to his post, which he later deleted, GTA 6 will take players back to the 80’s era. What’s interesting is that there have been other rumors suggesting a similar theme. According to the leaks, GTA 6 will have a short backstory set in the 80s or 90s.

GTA 6 Protagonists

The best thing about GTA 5 was three different playable protagonists. According to several GTA 6 leaks, Rockstar will follow a similar trend in GTA 6. However, for the first time since GTA 1, Rockstar might include a playable female protagonist in GTA 6.

This GTA 6 leak came from Tom Henderson, who says that GTA 6 will have a female and a male protagonist. Players can switch between the two characters as they do in GTA 5.

Title

In March 2020, GTA enthusiasts thought they found GTA 6 location clues in GTA 5’s “Heist of Society” DLC track. Of course, the location was Vice City; however, other than the location, there were rumors that the much-awaited GTA 5 sequel will be called GTA VI(CE).

Platforms

GTA 6 has been in development before PS5 and Xbox Series X/S were announced. So, it’s safe to say that GTA 6 might release for PS4 and Xbox One.

Moreover, Rockstar is officially porting GTA 5 to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S to provide better framerates, visuals, etc. Considering that, there’s no doubt that GTA 6 will arrive for next-gen consoles right at the game’s launch.

As of PC, GTA 5 was made available for PC two years after its initial release for consoles. However, it’s doubtful that Rockstar will follow a similar trend for GTA 6. That’s because both GTA 5 and GTA Online have been incredibly successful on PC. So, it is possible that after all these years of wait, GTA 6 will release for PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC at once.

Rockstar’s New NPC Tech Patent

Recently, Take-Two, Rockstar’s parent company, filed a new NPC tech patent suggesting the upcoming technology in GTA 6. The new patent is titled “System And Method For Virtual Navigation In A Gaming Environment.” According to sources, this tech makes the NPC’s behavior smarter for a “realistic experience.”

Even now, Rockstar’s AI for NPC’s is far better than any other open-world game. However, GTA creators want to take the next step by using even advanced AI. With this new tech, NPC’s driving pattern will respond to weather conditions, road accidents, traffic, and other factors.

As soon as a Reddit user spotted the new patent, GTA 6 enthusiasts concluded that Rockstar developers intend to use this tech for GTA 6. Of course, that could be true; however, there’s a slight chance that this new NPC tech is being reserved for GTA Online.

GTA 6 Pre-order

Officially, GTA 6 Pre-order isn’t available because the game hasn’t even been officially announced. However, you can still pre-order GTA 6 on sites like Gamivo. If the seller is trustworthy, then you’ll be the first one to play GTA 6 after it’s release.
