Samsung kicked off its annual Galaxy Unpacked event at San Francisco, California today. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of its smartphone line, the company unveiled a bunch of new phones in its S10 series this year.
The event started with the much awaited foldable smartphone ‘Galaxy Fold’ followed by S10 series phones, namely, Samsung Galaxy S10, S10 Plus, S10e, and its 5G model.
In addition to the company also unveiled its wireless earphones Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Active Watch in the wearables section. Let’s take a closer look at all the devices Samsung is offering us now:
Samsung Galaxy Fold
After months of waiting, Samsung’s foldable smartphone is officially here. Even though the images and specs of Galaxy Fold were leaked hours ahead of its launch, the phone itself was worth the wait.
Samsung has done a pretty good job as far as the looks and hardware specification of Galaxy Fold is concerned. This foldable phone comes with a 4.6-inch display on the outside which can be unfolded into massive 7.3-inch Infinity-flex display.
The phone sports a total of six cameras with a triple camera setup at the back, two on the inside and one on the outside. Under the hood, it has 12GB RAM, 512GB onboard storage, and Qualcomm 7nm Octa-core processor.
It goes without saying that this premium phone comes at a premium price tag which is set at $1,980. Interested users can buy the Galaxy Fold April 26 onwards.
Samsung Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10e
Samsung has launched three models in its S10 series and 5G variant as well. Starting with the Galaxy S10, which is the baseline model, comes with 6.1-inch Infinity-O AMOLED display minus the notch at a price of $900.
It is powered by an 8nm Exynos 9820 processor and comes in two RAM/ROM variants. The phone has an Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner for unlocking and there are three cameras (12MP, 16MP, and 12MP) at the back along with a 10MP snapper with 4K UHD video recording at the front.
S10 Plus, on the other hand, has similar specs with the exception of a bigger screen, rated at 6.4-inch and dual selfie camera. It also has a bigger 4,100mAh battery and a whopping 12GB RAM/1TB ROM configuration with a price tag of $1,000.
The third variant, Galaxy S10E, sports a 5.8-inch Infinity-O AMOLED display and packs the same processor as its older siblings. It’s the budget S10 which is available at $750. The S10E carries two cameras at the back, rated at 12MP and 16MP and a single snapper at the front.
Samsung Galaxy Buds
Samsung unveiled its smart wearables with the Galaxy branding at the event. Introducing the Galaxy Bud, a competitor to Apple AirPods, features adaptive dual microphones for hassle-free calls at $129. These wireless earphones offer up to five hours of calls or six hours of music listening time when fully charging them once.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active
Samsung has also announced a new line of fitness wearables at the Unpacked event with the Galaxy Watch Active smartwatch and the Galaxy Fit and Fit E sports bands.
The Galaxy Watch Active has a 1.1 inch, 360 x 360 AOD display, 230mAh battery and 768 MB of RAM. It is powered by Exynos 9110 processor and supports WPC-based wireless charging.
